Pharaoh Camping

We get to take a trip to Dartmoor National Park last weekend to camp. It was such a fun, beautiful trip (put the camping bug back into us), and I thought I'd share a few pictures. Here are a few from our first day's hike:

The banks were lined with fishermen

And forests were so thick that you couldn't even walk past 2 trees

Ma, we searched for a long time trying to find a four-leafer for you. Sadly, no luck.

This part felt like Narnia.

Spring is here, and the trees were starting to bloom.

ANTS! There were TONS of them- makes me feel itchy just thinking about them.

Bowtie Baby, Yeya!

...And then we camped! No camp fires were allowed, but we bought this awesome cheapo stove, and the Markus worked his magic.

We were so cold that we went to sleep at about 8pm huddled in our tent with as many layers on as possible.

The next morning we drank HOT CHOCOLATE...

And created a new kind of dough-boy (see the excitement on his face?): the fireless tinfoil(yes, I use that word now)-boy, which we stuffed with honey.

Planning our hike for the day.

This one's for the sisters! It proves my frozen desperation- SOCKS WITH SANDALS!

And to the Moors we trekked.

This was our car-marker.

The majestic man-sheep.

This wall went on forever.

We archeologized that this was an old Briton community.

That Samson collapsed.
